Rabbit hunt with a catty backfire. W.J. Niswonger, left, and his brother, Noah Niswonger, were hunting rabbits just south of the cement plant Monday when their beagle, shown here, gave a sharp yelp and called off the hunt. The brothers, investigating, found this big bobcat crouched in a tangle and promptly dispatched him with a shotgun. The big cat, about 4 1/2 feet long, weighed a shade over 20 pounds. This is the first wildcat reported slain in this vicinity this fall. (G.D. Fronabarger photo)
