Turn-about Day. Members of Mark Twain Society of State College made pledges perform stunts. Then, on Monday afternoon, the pledges were permitted to wield the big stick, and had members dig dandelions in Courthouse Park. Front row from left to right: Bill Roberts, Kelly Hinman, Herbert Statler, Duane Sisson, Bill Rasch, Thom Reeves. Back row, Barry Hazen, Bill Armstrong, Jim Morrow. (G.D. Fronabarger photo)

Fred Lynch has captured images for the Southeast Missourian since 1975, in that time moving from black-and-white to color, from film to digital and to video. The blog title is a nod to an earlier era of news photography and the 4x5 Speed Graphic: It's more important to be there for the shot than to worry about technical details.
