Basketball Fever!

Southeast Missourian, Dec. 27, 1957

This Central High School cheering section indicates what a unanimous attention-getter is this game of basketball, especially when kids are at that age they go all out for the sport. It was in Houck Field House on Thursday night, initial stage of the Preps Holiday Tournament. Expressions vary from the highest pitch of enthusiasm to the "Oh, well. They scored again." (G.D. • Everyone looks like they could be related. Strange that every girl and boy seems to have the same hair style and casual attire.

I guess the school was still segregated.
