Keep Your Cell Phones Charged
Hope everyone is "stocking up" to get ready for the winter storm heading our way. We'll need water, food, batteries, blankets-----and faith to "weather the weather" coming our way. Some of us may go inward to find that faith; some will search holy books and meditation readings for strength and solace. Others will seek the support of friends and family. The source of our faith and support does not matter, to me, as much as living our faith in a way that shares God's grace and love with others.
Perhaps the weather will bring respite from work or school responsibilities.....as well as, in some cases, freedom from technology when and if we have weather associated electrical outages. Should that happen, we will be challenged to protect our frail and elderly, our refrigerated and frozen food, and the physical comfort of everyone, including our pets. However, there is, I believe, a hidden gift in such challenges. For me, it is the fact that it forces us inward and gives us time to reflect and pray. We might even be able to engage in that old fashioned activity called "reading a book." Or, even more foreign for an old lady like me, it might even be fun to build a snow-woman or throw a snow ball.
Here's hoping the coming weather brings you safety, comfort and blessings. Remember to keep your cell phones charged. May God bless and keep you.
