Pro-life Republican Bob Parker challenges a 16-year incumbent
There are those who talk and there are those who act. Bob Parker agrees with Jo Ann Emerson on one thing: Congress has definitely earned its poor popularity rating.
A pro-life, conservative Republican, Bob has stepped out into the political arena, once again, and declared himself a challenger to 16-year incumbent Jo Ann Emerson. Bob believes he can take his business background, after spending his entire working life here in the 8th District, as well as his deep-seated faith in the Lord, to correct the course of our country in Washington, D.C.
Bob Parker wants to work to protect the unborn, shore up Social Security funding by cutting spending on other programs, and make sure Constitutional rights, like the right to bear arms and the right to due process, are fully protected.
The 8th District includes, among others, the cities of Rolla, West Plains, Sikeston, Kennett, Perryville, Poplar Bluff, Ste. Genevieve, Cape Girardeau, and Sikeston. It is a daunting task to challenge an entrenched incumbent in any political race. Unlike the more practiced politicians in our 8th District, only Bob Parker has the conviction to carry through despite the Emerson advantages of celebrity, party backing, and lobbyist funding.
It must be openly admitted that the 8th District is overwhelmingly Republican. The actual determination of who the 8th District sends back to Washington will be decided on primary day, August 7, 2012.
This blog is intended to update readers on the progress Bob Parker makes as he gets his message out. We will cover the success Bob had opposing Jo Ann in 2010 with limited funds and a small group of volunteers. Then we will analyze how Jo Ann Emerson continued her promotion of big government and increased spending after the 2010 election; this action prompted Bob to step back into the race again for 2012. As the campaign progresses, we will cover how Bob Parker's ever-expanding group of campaign volunteers are getting Bob's message out.
