Broadway Burger King update

Two months after a Cape Girardeau Burger King was demolished, construction on a newer one is coming along at a rather rapid pace. Dan Drury, president of Midamerica Hotels Corp. that owns 35 Burger Kings, said he's aiming to have the restaurant complete by Thanksgiving. In an earlier article Drury told me that issues with plumbing and other parts of the building caused the company to construct a newer Burger King. I've included an artist's rendering of the company's newly opened Burger King in Jonesboro, Ark., which will look similar in appearance to the restaurant in Cape Girardeau. Unlike the Jonesboro location, the Cape Girardeau Burger King will have an indoor fun center. Comments Showing comments in chronological order [Show most recent comments first] |

Here's the prototype of the new design that Burger King released earlier this year.

Just in time for Thanksgiving, eh? Thank God - I thought I was going to have to sit through another year of turkey and dressing.
Saw the slide show--pretty cool place. Whoppers will probably cost $10 apiece now. BTW--What used to be at that corner before the first BK was built?
Great news
Now when will El Torero's new location (former Jays)ever be finished in Jackson?
Travellin man,
They did a story about it when they first told of BK being razed. . .
Look it up!
And sadly the interior in the slide show resembles the "new Retro" Mcdonalds on Broadway, while the exterior resembles the new Qdoba location in cape. Where are the typical architectural features of a BK restaurant? Fast food chains are notorious for their command of their brand. . .
travellin man I think that there was mobil service station on that corner. It was operated by Ronnie Slinkard.
retired, I think you're right. I kinda sorta remember that place.
Ego-Big - useful, interesting information. Thank you sir.
Why did they ever tear down the old Alvarado? It was unique. Modern chain restaurants---all cookie cutter architecture look alikes. Bah!
The new Burger King looks like a DQ Grill & Chill restaurant.
Plumbing / slumming question is are they doing anything about the convenience of getting in and out of the parking lot?
My problem with it was the customer service. They need to hire a new staff with the new store.
