Royal N'Orleans sale price reduced

The advertised price for a property is not something I normally would write about but in the case of the Royal N'Orleans I've deemed it appropriate to do so.

The restaurant inside the historic building constructed in 1868 closed June 30 and has generated interest from potential buyers since. Broker Cynthia Austin of Realty Executives of Cape County that is handling the deal told me she has several people seriously interested in the purchase of the property. Time will tell if any of those offers translate into a sale.

Austin's website lists the sale of the restaurant at $250,000, down from the price of $350,000 that had been advertised until this week. The business plus the building is for sale at $650,000, which was $750,000. John and Jerri Ann Wyman of Merriwether Investments own the property.

Brian Blackwell's response:
imalwaysright, this kind of name-calling is uncalled for on my blog. Anyone else posting on this top in the future we'd ask that you please refrain from such comments. Thanks.

hmmm, funny how the semissourian protects John....i'd HATE to offend Mr. Wyman. Being that he's such a pillar of the community.

Brian Blackwell's response:
imalwaysright,

We're not after defending a certain individual. The issue that I'm addressing is not calling others names. Feel free to comment but please refrain from name calling.

why does everyone seem to hate the wyman's so much? i have known them for years and have worked for them too. they have always been good to me.

Brian, Really? Is it what imalwaysright said that bad??? Let's be honest, in the land of blogosphere you're going to have people who have some angst towards certain others in the community. They aren't going to always say nice things. Sometimes this may be based on personal experience and many others it may be unfounded hatred for whatever personal reason. I'm finding it a bit hypocritical that on one hand that the satire of Brad Hollerbach is easily one of the most read blogs on here, and while not nearly as witty, other comments of disdain in the community aren't tolerated on this website. I'll make sure I put "big nose" on the list of things I shouldn't say on the missourian website.

I find that name calling is appropriate in the current political atmosphere. There is so much anger among the people that most in Washington, and the centers of oppression, such as New York, Houston and Dallas, don't quite get, because they have fattened themeslves on outrageous, multi-million dollar salaries, and have no connection to real life any longer.

Calling someone by a physical characteristic is very unkind. I prefer to stay with terms that register my bottled up anger, as in doing so, it acts as a safety valve, releasing some of that anger, and therefore preventing my anger from being channeled in other far greater unsocial behavior.

Most of my favorite words for Bush, Obama, and Jo Ann Emerson are filtered out on this forum, even though many, especially, bast---, and wh---- are in the bible. Others like Bit---, Sl--, Mother something, t-rd, and sh-- h---, and the like are perfect for that adreneline release that calms the neveres and prevents unfortunate responses.

Why not put up a forum whereby such words could be used freely, even F, and it's derivatives? It could be theaputic, helping release hostilities in a non-physically threatening manner. It could be a protected area, where no one under 8 could get in, without parental supervision. There ya go, a family fun activity, cussing together with your children on the net. You could sell banner ads galore.

Really, unkind physical comments are rather harsh, when there is so much better language that many of us have already heard before, especially, if we are prior military.

I miss the New Orleans. Since I first came here in the early 70's, it has always been here. Sign of the times. I blame Jo Ann Emerson who voted for every job killing bill that came down the pike in the last 13 years. No jobs, or, tight budget, because he people we depend on, have lost their job, and now they no longer come to me, so we can't go to the New Orleans and drop the cash like we used to, until the economy turns around, which is not going to do.

I wish them well in selling the business, or, building and getting out from under their expense.

drop the price to about $50 bucks and a corn cob, and I might think about it.

If the building has been empty and there is no operating business, then why would anyone buy the "business". Talk about out of touch with reality...makes no sense to buy a "former business".

I look forward to the more aggressive removal of any (size)(body part) phrases from this website.

I'm offended by the confederate flag posted with one writer's response.

well, the Business Appraisal shouldn't be S__t now thats its been closed for months. If you owed back taxed as much as they do... you would be trying to get as much out of some future sucker as you could to CYA too. Chances are, this is a dead thread; but lets give it a try. In this present ecconomy, with the newly opened CAIN, and Mollies, Celebrations, Rays, Gordonville Grille, etc... WHY would anyone chance a half a millon dollar+ investment to go up against these guys and expect to succeed? I mean, the Austins and the Whaah-manns are the only parties who stand any gains in this deal for the asking price! I mean, com'on...

As for even starting a blog with this topic is really sad.....Well, where are the other price reductions on property for sale in Cape? hhhmmmmm Well Brian, looks like you were bored and just wanted to talk some smack on someone...

Once again...all this blog and as far as that goes, the SE Missourian is a BIG AS- GOSSIP COLUMN...that is sad when you can't even find enough news in an area this large to publish a SAturday paper...but yet, you can post really stupid things such as this......OMG what a waste of a downtown building that houses this thing called a NEWSPAPER!!!!
