River City Biologicals adding onto building

River City Biologicals is adding to its facility at 813 Southern Expressway. Scheduled for a late August completion, the 3,750-square-foot addition will include office space and a conference and reception area, according to vice president Jerad Busch.

The biological raw material supplier and processor of meat products once rented space inside the Southeast Innovation Center's incubator before moving to its present location.

A new report found some disturbing yet unsurprising results on this country's obesity problem. Rose Bed Inn owners break ground on new art gallery

The owners of the Rose Bed Inn Bed & Breakfast in Cape Girardeau are planning to add an art gallery. Set to open Oct. 2, the Aartful Rose at 631 S. Sprigg St. will feature an art gallery and banquet hall that accommodate up to 150 people. The groundbreaking for the facility is set for 8:30 a.m. today. Once co-owner James Coley and others place their shovels in the ground, work on the building will begin. Coley said he hopes the project is complete sometime in September...

Enough wind power for 26,000 households

AmerenUE has signed an agreement with Horizon Wind Energy's Pioneer Prairie Wind Farm in Iowa to purchase 102 megawatts of power. Company officials say that's enough to provide power for 26,000 households, fulfilling AmerenUE's plan to add 100 megawatts of renewable capacity by 2010...



Happy Father's Day

Well my first Father's Day has arrived and let me tell you it's an awesome feeling. All those things I thought didn't make sense before my wife and I were parents now hit home. Being a dad is great, though I know my wife deserves a lot of credit for her part in raising our four-week child, Isabella Grace. While I'm trying my best at being a father, I know I have many years of learning. But for now I'll just enjoy this special day...
