Happy after Valentine's Day WeekendPosted Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at 11:09 AM
Well we are suppose to believe that the Love that was in the air has bloomed, and we are floating on cloud whatever full of ideas of what to do the weekend after that Big V-day. Right! Nope, I do not think so....Ironically we spend so much time focusing on what to do that special day that we forget what to do the weekend after.
Well, maybe not everyone, but this time of the year I fight the winter blues something fierce. Fortunately, for me and me signing up for all those random e-blast, newsletters, and event alerts those kind folks that want me to come to their events keep me knowledgeable!
This weekend like many others in Southeast Missouri is jammed packed full of fun, I mean we are just a hip group of people around here!
A few of my favorites and some that I have PRAYED would be happening in this area are!
Catch some Local Hoops.... It is no lie that I am oblivious to the sports circle, I know I am pathetic, but fortunate for me Ryan is no sports fan either. However, one thing that we are fans of is our LOCAL youth! You may not catch me in front of the TV watching the big game, but you are likely to see me at some local high school ball game cheering on some of the local youth! This parents has become a hobby of ours, actually it has been a hobby since our little gal was born, while we are not huge sports fans, we do attempt to give our children a taste of the sports culture. To keep up with the local sports news, I follow what I call our own local sports broadcasting network....SemoBall.com
Floor Stomping Community Dance Party at the Loft ....this event is for all ages, everyone is welcome, and I hear a few of those boys that frequent at The Loft have some killer dance moves. Personally, I am a huge fan of dancing; however, I have two left feet, but please do not tell my children that; they think Mommy is Rock star! Moms and Dads this event is something for the entire family, we give this event our 2 thumbs up seal of approval!
Get your fitness groove on....we got sports; we got dancing, what about getting your fitness groove on! I know sighhh who wants to think about hitting gym on the weekend? Well I do! No lie, I call one of our local gyms my weekend sanity saver, why they have AMAZING family programs on the weekends! You have probably already figured out that I have a complete addiction to keeping my family very busy...shhhh do not tell them, I do this so they will take naps and I can catch up on my newest addiction to Pinterest! Healthpoint Fitness offers a variety of weekend family programs including family swim time, time on the basketball court for the little ones, and even a few classes that your kiddos can enjoy. Fitness Plus would also be happy to allow you to spend a little time in their classy facility, or Rock It Out at the Semo Aquatics Center. Okay, not exactly fitness, but way so cool. Have you visited the Semo Aquatics Center, I have not yet been brave enough to give their zip line a try, but my dear Celesse totally loved it for her birthday. We give our 2 thumbs up seal of approval to all of these fine places, but we give our exhausted body seal of approval to the Semo Aquatics Center's Zip line Fun!
I hope you all have an Adventurous Weekend, and for more Great Ideas of things to do, visit the Southeast Missourian's Events Calendar.

I began sharing our family travel stories after many of my friends called, texted or nagged at me to find out where our latest adventure was. The real truth about our adventures is I have a strong dislike for sitting still, being bored, and really don't like to go to the same old places everyone else goes. I am no nature expert even though we spend a lot of time outdoors; however, I have a firm belief that fresh air exhaust kids, getting a little dirty is good for their health, and discovering new things keeps them diversified. When I am not blogging, traveling, or chasing kids, I enjoy running, dancing, and photography.
