The Self-Fulfilling prophecy
One of the best examples of misdirected thought is that of the self-fulfilling prophecy. Writing about the power and the results of thoughts is one of my favorite endeavors.
If you do not think that what you think comes true, just look around you and look inside. How often have you said "I will never be successful as a salesman,"'and you weren't. How often have you said, "I cannot go back to school after I've been away for an amount of years." And as long as you've kept that perspective, you did not attempt enrolling again. And if you did begin going back to college, you soon dropped out.
Even if you had all the support in the world from other people and enough money to comfortably pay your expenses, you still either failed because you were unmotivated, or you failed to put forth the necessary effort to make adequate grades to reach your goals.
You either, deep down, did not desire further education or you felt that you were incapable of performing the work that was required of you. You set yourself up for failure. You could blame no one except yourself and your lack of motivation, or lack of interest in pursuing that goal.
What you believed inside you, came true. You proved to yourself that you could not attain your degree or whatever goal you were half-heartedly striving for. You prophesied within your mind that you would fail--and you did. You could just as easily directed your thoughts another direction and that wish would have materialized.
You can fool you conscious mind, but you can't fool your subconscious. I caution you to always guard your thoughts. They are livings things and your thoughts can work for you or against you.
Keep your mind on God who tells us that "We are wonderfully made," and that "we are made in the image of God.". Keep those visions in your head and be a success.
How have your thoughts influenced your life either positively or negatively? Recall a time when you doubted yourself immeasurably or were extremely confident and it came to pass. Comment, so I can hear your experience with right thoughts, or wrong ones.dreamstimefree_66187
