Keep Your Mind Occupied
Keeping your mind occupied isn't always an easy task. but it's necessary. You may say, "Oh I have so much to do that my mind is too occupied."
It's true, you do need to rest your mind and let it wander sometimes, but if that happens too often, you either become complacent and lazy or depressed. Either state is not a good one.
If you don't direct your mind towards something constructive, it will fly around on its own. It will become like a ship in the ocean, that has no captain. Think what a disaster that would be if it were allowed to continue.
The ship would eventually self--destruct. The same condition would happen to you if you allowed your mind to stray for too long. Your mind must be filled. It will never lie dormant. If you do not choose what to put in it, it will come up with all sorts of false imaginings, many, unwelcome guests.
If you so nothing besides work a cross-word puzzle, a jigsaw puzzle or watch a bird, occupy your mind. Depression is common to those who do not fill their time and especially their minds. Scripture even says that "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." That tells you something, right?
How do you occupy your mind when you need to?
