The Hustle and Bustle Has Begun...
We are less than two weeks out from delivery for the Jaycee Christmas for the Elderly and Toybox projects and there is still SOO much to do. Jaycee members can be seen out with carts full of toys and elderly needs as they work their way through the crowds this holiday season. With only 1/3 of our Toybox applications currently filled, "Santa's workshop" is running low on toy donations and the budget is dwindling quickly!
So what do we need...TOYS for all age/genders and monetary donations to fill the voids on our shelves as we work to re-stock. Popular items include sports balls, craft sets, baby dolls, learning games, blocks and legos, and dress-up make up and costumes. AND -- we need it fast! Please add us to your "to do" list this week and get those donations into one of our drop locations around town. Monetary donations are collected at the Southeast Missourian or can be mailed to
Cape Jaycees, PO Box 4, Cape Girardeau, MO 63702
For our Christmas for the Elderly project, we have many requests that are still left unfulfilled. We have a few wonderful senior citizens who have requested the following items:
SADI transportation coupons
TAXI coupons
3-4X sweats, stretch blue jeans, and pajamas for women
Diabetic Socks
Phone with caller ID
Suspenders
Pet Food
Two small bookshelves
Phillips electric toothbrush
A replacement remote for a Temperpedic ergo mattress (Bed was donated for handicapped individual but no remote)
Gift Cards for groceries and/or prescription refills
Winter Coats (Women's 16-18 and XL, Men's XL)
Thanks for your support and consideration! Tune in to my blog this week to read stories about some of the individuals you may be helping with your contribution to the Jaycee Toybox and Christmas for the Elderly.
