And We're Off!
The Thanksgiving holiday has come and gone - Black Friday is behind us - and Christmas is just around the corner. The Jaycees are in full swing on the Toybox and Christmas for the Elderly projects for the 2013 Holiday season.
Up approximately 30 applications from last year's numbers, we have begun the work of collecting and gathering toys and fundraising for monetary donations to fill those voids on the shelves of our warehouse. At this time, we are finding voids in donations for our older children applicants, ages 10-12. Needs for this age group include:
Arts and Crafts Kits
Make-up and Hair Accessories
Boom boxes with CDS
DVD players and Movies
Backpacks and purses
Skateboards
Sports Equipment
Nerf Toys
Ideas for Elderly Donation Needs at this time include gift cards for pharmacies and groceries, including Walmart, Save A Lot, and Schnucks. Additionally - bedding and towels, pajamas and house shoes, and pet needs top the list of many of our applicants.
Stay tuned for specific family needs this Christmas...
