Growing Family and Living "Single"
From the very young to the very old, the Cape Jaycees are working hard this year to bring Christmas joy to individuals in Cape Girardeau.
Ms. K, a single mother to three young children, doubled her household this year as she accepted young family members who needed a loving parent. Raising six children on her own, she finds the daily living expenses difficult to come by and the "extras" impossible. From age 6-12, Ms. K wants her children to have a wonderful Christmas, filled with the joy that the holiday brings. For the little ones, that means presents under the tree! A purple and black purse for a pre-teen and another for her sister, a toy helicopter that flies for a young man, age 12, and a play computer or Leap Pad for little ladies, age 9 and 10, would bring joy to these children on Christmas morning. A growing family means growing expenses and this single mother appreciates all that comes her way.
In contrast, Ms. Z lives alone at the age of 84 with no family to care for her or visit her for the holidays. With no money for doctors or healthcare, Ms. Z struggles with her health and could use some assistance for the very basic living necessities; Ensure to provide her with nutrition, cleaning items such as Clorox wipes and Swifters, personal items including deodorant, shampoo/conditioner and toothpaste/brush, and towels. Your donations could bring joy to someone "Living single" during this holiday season.
