Christmas Giving Update
With delivery day just around the corner, the Cape Jaycees are busy loading up Santa's bags for the sleigh to send toys out to over 1150 children and a number of senior citizens in the area who need our support during Christmas. We have called out to the Cape Girardeau and surrounding community for support and I am humbled and overwhelmed by the response. WOW, we live in a WONDERFUL community, filled with generosity and compassion for others; truly the spirit of the holiday season is in the air. Toys have come flowing in, monetary donations to help fill where there is need, and many well wishes and thoughts. Notre Dame High School sent more than 800 toys our way and the River City Rodders have stocked our warehouse with bikes! In a much better place than where we were a week ago, there continues to be a need for gift cards for our Senior Citizens to purchase groceries, prescriptions, and daily living expenses. If you are still looking for a way to get involved in this annual project that delivers joy to so many, donations will continue to be accepted at our area drop-locations through Sunday, December 19 and monetary and financial support can be dropped off at the Southeast Missourian or mailed to Cape Jaycees PO Box 4, Cape Girardeau,MO. Thank you for all you have done to help in our efforts!
