House Fire Takes Everything: Drafty Home Makes for Long Winter Days
Standing helplessly, the "Smiths" watched as their home and all their belongings were consumed by fire. A family of five, the Smiths, lost everything this fall when a fire started in the kitchen. With three children, starting over has been a challenge and they look forward to the day when normal describes their days. The oldest of three, Miranda, age 11 likes Hello Kitty, makeup and jewelry. The two boys, age 7 and 9, enjoy Nerf Wars and playing ball in the backyard. They also take pleasure in building things with Legos. Happy for their family's safety and the joy of celebrating the season together, the Smiths are appreciative of all and thank you for your support.
Additional items needed at this time for the Toybox project are items for 10-12 year olds, such as personal CD players, sports equipment, and purses or tote bags. Baby toys are also appreciated since inventory for these age groups is low in the warehouse.
With the cold weather setting in for the winter, Ms. G finds that staying warm in a drafty home challenging. With health issues, from cancer to heart disease, she is unable to be active and finds these cold days and nights long and lonely. She would be grateful for warm clothing such as sweats and sweaters (medium) and house shoes in a size six and a half. Gift cards for Walmart or John's Pharmacy would be helpful in covering her medical expenses.
Other items needed by Christmas for the Elderly are basic cleaning supplies, including laundry items and toiletries, pet care items such as dog and cat food or kitty litter, and gift cards for groceries or prescriptions.
