Sen. Jason Crowell was elected to serve Southeast Missouri's 27th Senate District in November of 2004 and was reelected in November 2008. During his first year in the Senate, Sen. Crowell earned the Chairmanship of the Committee on Pensions, Veterans' Affairs and General Laws.
Before that, in 2000, Jason Crowell was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives and represented the 158th district. After re-election in 2002 Jason was elected by his colleagues to be the Majority Leader. Jason used this position to fight for lower taxes, protect traditional marriage, and reign in out of control spending.

Americans this year will pay more in taxes than they will spend on food, clothing, and shelter combined. In fact, from the beginning of the year until April 4th, you are working just to earn enough money to pay for your tax obligation at the federal, state, and local levels. The 95 days of hard work you have to put in just to pay for government spending is what economist Milton Friedman said is "a system that increasingly taxes work and subsidizes nonwork."...
