OLE TIMER AND NEW TIMER TAKE THE STAGE......
The title of this blog has nothing to do with age. Today I will be introducing you to A.J. McNamara (ole timer) and Derrell Miner (new timer). Both will be starring in our upcoming production of "A Night in the Theatre" by Lawrence Casler and directed by Andrea Shovan. Now about A.J. He came to Cape in 2006 to study at SEMO and has lived here since. After graduating in 2009, A.J. has worked in local radio and as a waiter. He made his River City Players' debut last September in "Academia Nuts" upon deciding that he should become involved in the theatre again for the first time since his high school days. In November A.J. played Pete in "First Things First", for which he won Best Lead Actor at the River City Players' annual Abbott Awards. A.J. has anxiously accepted the challenges of "A Night in the Theatre." He's excited to bring Walter to life and excude the pompousness and elitism that the character presents. Break a leg A.J.
Now let me introduce Derrell Minner (new timer). Derrell who is playing the role of Hamlet is an engaged man and has a five year old son. This is Derrell's first association with RCP and we are so glad to welcome him. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and currently works at NARS in Cape Girardeau. His hobbies and interests include basketball, football, video games, and movies. Derrell is very outgoing, sociable, and charming. Acting has always been a huge dream of his and he hopes this play will be his big break into acting. Break a leg Derrell. The dinner show dates are May 11,12,18, and 19. The doors open at 6:30 with the buffet served at 7:00 and the show at 8:00. The cost is $35. The show only date is Thursday, May 17. The doors open at 6:30 and the show starts at 7:00. The ticket price is $15 and with a current student (picture) ID the cost is $10. This is a full length comedy and suitable for ages 12 and up. For reservations call Port Cape at 573-334-0954. Port Cape is located on the River Front of 19 N. Water St. See you at the Theatre!
