THE DIRECTOR AND CO-DIRECTOR ARE.........
Our second show of the season is right around the corner. We will be presenting "A Night in the Theatre" by Lawerence Casler. This is a full length comedy and is recommended for ages 12 and up. An RCP production doesn't just happen, it is directed and co-directed by very dependable and professional people. I would like to introduce you to those two people that have taken the job for our upcoming show. The director is Mrs. Andrea Shovan. Andrea graduated from Cape Central High School and then went on to Murray State University to pursue a Theatre/Music degree. Andrea works for JCS Wireless here in Cape and is married with two children, Alex and Hannah. She has performed in many productions some of which include: "Of Mice and Men", "Radio TBS", "Faith County" and "Faith County 2". She has also directed many shows including "Cheaper by the Dozen", "A Bad Year for Tomatoes" and "Play it Again, Sam". Andrea is thrilled to be involved in her third season with River City Players. You may remember her as Jerry in "The Crazy Time". For that role she was awarded the Abbott Award for Best Actor in a Lead Role. Andrea is very excited to be directing for RCP and have such a fantastic cast and crew. Co-Directing with Andrea is Mrs. Brenda Ferguson. Brenda has enjoyed working with the River City Players for five season and has had the opportunity to serve multiple times as stage manager and co-director. She has also played the roles of Ruth Bloom in "Charming Billy" and Aunt Ezzie in "Ransom of Red Chief". She has won two Abbott Awards, Unsung Hero in 2009 and the President's Choice Award in 2011. Brenda will make her directing debut in November when RCP presents "A Christmas Cactus". Reservations are being taken now for the May production. Call 573-334-0954 and reserve that table now. The dinner show dates are May 11,12,18,and 19 with the show only date on May 17. Dinner shows are a buffet and the cost is $35. The Show Only cost is $15 and with a current picture student ID $10. All of RCP's productions are held at Port Cape 19 N. Water St. in the Yacht Club. I will see you at the Theatre!
