CHOOSING A PLAY.....Posted Friday, November 13, 2009, at 8:07 AM
Have you ever wondered after attending a play production by River City Players how they came up with that particular show? It can become quite the undertaking by the person that has stepped up to the plate to direct during the season. One has to keep in mind the size of the stage we work with. It is important to know if the set design that is provided in the script is a possibility. Also, the number of characters has to be thought through also. Small stage means no large cast unless not all characters are ever on stage together. Also the type of play is something that has to be taken into consideration. There are hundreds to choose from ranging from Drama to Horror to Murder Mystery to Dark Comedy to good old Comedy. I have found personally that people like to go out for a evening of good food and a play that is full of fun and lots of laughter. It is River City Players intention to entertain and present a fun-filled, laid back evening that will make everyone wanting more and can't wait for the next production.
