Two Dawns Ann Chance
Chance Beagle - Part 1
One day a couple weeks ago now, he followed D1 across the road to the mailbox. I want you to get this - Chance did not run into the road - he was with his person - but someone driving along that road hit Chance and almost hit D1. Chance was scooped up, help called for and off to the ER vet; however, on the way, it looked bad, very bad: he was un-responsive; they didn't think he would make it to Scott City. Dr. Ann at La Croix Pet Hospital was called - she said to bring him to her surgery. Let me quote D2 who is in the car with Chance as D1 is driving:
"When the decision was made to put him down, he lifted himself up on his front legs and drug himself over to my chest, laid his head on me and looked up with very pleading eyes. It was almost like he understood what had been said and he was begging for a 2nd Chance."
Dr Ann took XRays, made clear what may or may not happen, how he was so touch and go - which the Ds saw in the car; D2 and family decided to give him his Chance - and his name. Dr. Ann called Silverwalk - if I do surgery on a Beagle who may not survive, will you help find him a home? Absolutely! I said.
