Sunshine! Foster Homes!
Sun today. Water has receded some. Have lost my washer, dryer and furnace but stayed alive, kept power and the sump pump is slowly working again - it now has somewhere to send the basement water.
Please help out with some volunteer time at the Humane Society's Emergency Shelter at Arena Park in the 4H building. They are helping your neighbors, near and far, who are unable to safely keep their animals at home due to the flooding.
It occurred to me this morning, when I saw how far down some of the water had gone, if it was a result of the planned, executed breech of the Bird Point levee. I am not sure. I simply am grateful it is down a bit. From what I have read about Bird Point, it was a hard decision weighing the best outcome for the most people and property.
Do any of you have two year old's? Now multiply that by 18 with cabin fever, loss of space to run as they normally do. Two friends are taking in two Silverwalk dogs to foster during this time of water. We are all in cabin fever mode here - another reason I am so glad my friends can take in a couple dogs to give them some more attention and exercise! See Sally! and Shiloh are going to Dana's Pet Salon for a bath and then to homes for their temporary fosters - maybe someone will see them to adopt them; or at least Sally. Thanks so much, Susan, Denise and Dana! This reminds me - it is time for Sheila and Seymour to visit Dana as well.
Have a very good day and remember, things are not good but they could be a whole lot worse.
