    Thank you for posting what for me is a very emotional memorial to the SAR dogs of 9/11.What many people may be unaware of, is we have groups in our area that have dedicated themselves to the training and discipline required to provide the public with this service in times of crisis.

    To all the members of the local, regional, state and federal teams, God bless you for your passion and willingness to walk into the face of danger!

  • Emotional, indeed. I was weeping at the end. What struck me was the dogs not only helped find survivors and bodies, but comforted human rescuers as well. These dogs did not wear respirators as did their handlers. Many have suffered as a result. Would they go in again? In a heart beat. SAR dogs and their handlers train to serve - THANK YOU.
