Broken mop and Lady Bird
My mop broke. Not just the head, which was brand new but the handle and fastening. Couldn't get it back together. Apparently, it had tired of all the work I asked of it over these rainy days with "delicate" hounds not wanting to get wet outside :(. I rarely claim any dog I adopt out is housetrained; Lady Bird will be a rare exception.
Lady Bird is getting another chance at life. Here at Silverwalk, she does very well, has come a long way, is beloved; she is also tormented by the presence of the St. Bernard up the hill, one of two intact dogs who mauled her last year :(. Physically, she is fit as a fiddle - she can pace my car at 25 mph. Now, this was not planned, mind you, I was trying to catch her after she got loose.....it was impressive, however. I am fostering her for Marion PAWS of Marion, AR. As a foster (see previous post), it is my responsibility to prepare her to move onto her new home or a better place - hopefully, that place will be in Maine. The woman who wants to work with Lady Bird has a 75# submissive male pointer, youngsters who will be able to actually RUN with Lady Bird and nearby dog parks and beaches. She will be in heaven - she will take a part of my heart with her. If I could take photos and drive, I would have some awesome ones for you. However, not a good idea if one wants to live and let live.
This face can talk to you better than many persons who use speech. She will be in a very small pack with attention from a more experienced person. No one will love her more than I, however. Current plan is for Lady Bird to catch the Pup Bus mid-December. I will let you all know her outcome. Many times, the best thing we can do for our dogs, especially in rescue, is to send them on. God speed, Lady Bird. You will LIVE.
