With the summer heat,it is important to remember that if you take daily medications and you are drinking plenty of water. You may be flushing the meds out of your system and decreasing the effectiveness of your medication.

People who suffer from sizures are especially

susceptible during warm weather. So if you can,stay out of the sun and heat.Stay cool and drink water(not to excess)

In recent weeks the topic of pill splitting come up in the media and on Internet articles.Some of my clients were also asking about the benefits and lowered cost of pill splitting. In this uncertain economy,anyway that you can lower your cost and still keep a quality of life,is always a good thing to me. Some people, depending on your insurance could save 400$ a year...

He gets all his wife favorite movies,she loved the cinema and it's history.He will play the dvd either in the morning or the late afternoon. ...



Busy bee syndrome

It's seems between MY job and my clients needs ohh and lets not forget my children's needs AND assesting storm damage for my house and soothing the fears of my clients. I too had fallen into worker bee syndrome( see 04/17/09 blog). It can happen to the best and worst of us. My jewish guilt makes me lean towards the worst. (oy, I haven't done enough! ect,ect)...



Dental impact on Seniors

In this generation of Seniors I have spoken to many Seniors who have managed the passage of time with great grace. They eat right,they exercise,they are able to maintain positive ties to the community and to their families. They are very active. But bring up the issue of dental care and you would think IM the one who is pulling their teeth right there on the spot.There is this perception that dental care for Seniors is too expensive even for seniors who have a comfortable lifestyle and means.Yes, we have all heard how expensive dental work can be,so it should go then that Senior dental issues would be doubly so. ...



Worker Bee

Once of the things as a CNA that I noticed the most is how often the caretakers themselves need TLC. Why is when we hear someone being "busy as a bee" we nod our head with approval? Doesn't anybody remember from watching Discovery, that worker bees(female drones) don't stop working till they drop from exhaustion and die,then the carcass is pushed out of the hive. ...
