How A Rainy Tuesday Could Benefit McCain

Saturday, November 1, 2008

A study conducted by political scientists last year indicated that when compared to normal conditions, rain significantly reduces voter participation by a rate of just less than 1% per inch, while an inch of snowfall decreases turnout by almost .5%. This study also indicated that poor weather is also shown to benefit the Republican Party's vote share. What do you think? Jason 37 you seem to be very uninformed.
The democrats are responsible for the economic problems resulting from incouraging lending to anyone and everybody despite repub warnings.

Please make sure you vote on Wednesday.

The difference between Democrats and Republicans regarding spreading the wealth is that Republicans are in favor of redistributing the wealth from the poor and middle class to the wealthy while democrats favor the poor and disenfranchised. Just take a look at the burden the fear mongering Republicans just put on the taxpayer with the bank bail out.

I understand why.
Most of us Democrats can't afford an umbrella.

And why is that? Maybe it's the fact that democrats want to "spread the wealth" as opposed to just fending for themselves and contributing the minimum amount to society. This is the top fundamental difference between democrats and republicans--for some reason that I cannot define, democrats want to spend my money on other people. Why should I pay for people that I don't know to have a "better life?"

I think the different this year from 2000 (and possibly 1960; don't know much about the election then) is that Obama seems to have put together a "get out the Vote" program that rivals that of W. Bush's in 2000. Just a thought of a variable that may (or may not) be considered in this data.

Then again, in this area that probably hardly matters considering the size of the local Republican office.

As for why it would affect Democratic voters, I don't think they can accurately decide that unless overall they are typically less passionate about their candidate (something that I would probably say is not the case this year).
