Black Forest Village's haunted town to open

Black Forest Village's haunted town will be open from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Oct. 24, 25 and 31. To get to the village from U.S. 61 in Cape Girardeau, take Lexington Avenue to Route W and watch for signs. For more information, call 335-0899.

Haunted Hall of Horror ready at Arena Building

The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department, Real Rock 99.3, K103 and Kiss 93.9 are sponsoring the 2008 Haunted Hall of Horror at the Arena Building from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday, Saturday, Oct. 24, 25 and 31. On Oct. 30, the hall will be open 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Children 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call 335-5421.

Scott City to hold annual Halloween, pet parade

The Scott City Park department will host its annual Halloween parade Saturday. Floats will line up at 9 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church, 312 Dearborn St., and the parade is expected to start by 10 a.m. The route goes down Main Street and over the overpass to Second Street East. Costume judging will follow the parade. The Scott City Women's Club will sponsor a pet contest for costumed pets, who are welcome to participate in the parade. Following the parade there will be judging, games, photo opportunities and other pet activities at Teresa's Tender Heart Pet Grooming on Second Street East.
