Esquire magazine endorses EmersonThursday, October 16, 2008
U.S. Rep Jo Ann Emerson has received an endorsement from an unlikely source. Esquire magazine, which usually focuses heavily on celebrity news and lifestyle journalism, announced its picks in races from the statehouse to the White House. Emerson was the only Republican in Missouri to win a nod from the magazine. Of Emerson, Esquire said: "Compassionate conservatism. Affordable medicine. An expansive sense of what it means to be a Republican. If these are a few of your favorite things, please bring back Emerson." Emerson is seeking her seventh term representing the Eighth Congressional District. Her opponents are Joe Allen, a Forsyth, Mo., Democrat, Branden McCullough, a Cape Girardeau Libertarian, and Richard Smith of Mansfield from the Constitution Party.

When Jo Ann Emerson cast her first vote on Monday, September 29th to bail out her Wall Street gambling banker friends and foreign banks, she IMMEDIATELY, latched onto Missouri Democratic Congressman Ike Skelton, grabbed General Sidwell, a Sikeston Attorney, who is head of the MO National Guard, and the three of them gassed up a military plane and flew out of the country, so neither Ike Skelton, nor, Jo Ann Emerson would have to come back and face their angry voters in Missouri. You know what? KFVS-TV 12 SNOOZ didn't think that the fact that Emerson flew out of the country, instead of flying back her to face us and our questions about the bailout of Wall Street greedy gamblers and foreign banks. So, very few people know that fact. Also, while I am at it, KFVS-TV 12 Leg Breaking SNOOZ, didn't think it was important to broadcast the news that Jo Ann Emerson voted for the PORKED UP FINAL VERSION OF THE WALL STREET BAILOUT on Friday, October 3rd. When I asked the News Assignment Editor, and a female snooz producer, why they did not tell us that Emerson had voted for the BIG PORK bill to bail out Wall Street, they told me that they thought that they had done enough already. Wow, what low expectations and standards errupt from KFVS to think that they had done enough already. They kept running re-run national stories about it, in bits and pieces all week long, or, longer, but the fact that our congresswoman had felt the heat from Harry Trumans proverbial KITCHEN, and had decided to get out of the kitchen and fly out of the country, ...well, that wasn't news. Nor, in KFVS's opinion, was it news that Jo Ann Emerson voted AGAIN on Friday for the big PORKER $900 BILLION DOLLAR BAILOUT of WALL STREET and FOREIGN BANKS.
If you watched C-SPAN, you saw courageous Republican Congressmen, led by John Culbertson of Texas, say that they could not vote for the bill because it had not be seriously studied, it gave too much power to Henry Paulson without true oversight to do how he pleased, without any questions in doling out the money, and other reasons that they could NOT vote for the Bailout. Was Jo Ann Emerson in their group? NO, NO, NO... JO voted TWICE for the largest bailout in US History, without ONE....NOT ONE ECONOMIST testifying before Congress. The reason that there were no hearings with economists called to testify, is because they would have said that it would not work. TWO HUNDERD of the nations most prominent economists from YALE, HARVARD, UCLA, STANFORD, MIT, the Uiniversities of Chicago, and Penn to mention just a few, wrote a letter to Jo Ann Emerson and other members of congess saying that it would not work. Jo Ann didn't pay attention to them, and NONE of the TWO HUNDRED were allowed to testify before congres.. Heck, BEN STEIN, and DONALD TRUMP said it was a waste, and that it would not work..
Now, we need to find Jo Ann Emerson, another line of work. She clearly has failed representing us in Washington. Of course, I contend that she could have done a better job of that, if she had actually lived her in the District. If we allow Jo Ann to go back to St. Louis, her near mansion home there, and her husband of 8 years, Ron Gladney, then I think that we are doing Jo Ann Emerson a good turn.
Speaking of good turn... look at this honest face. JOE ALLEN is PRO-LIFE...PRO-PROPERTY RIGHTS, and 100% PRO-GUN RIGHTS... with an ("A") rating from the NRA.

I see that when these Jo Ann Emerson boosters fail to even mention, or, attempt to discuss Emerson's betrayal of the 8th District, the district which he represents from her luxiurous home with her Democrat Union Attorney in St. Louis. Never mind that she never actually lived here since she and Bill came here almost 30 years ago, and maintains what is little more than a mail drop in the district, but the fact is that these Emerson boosters never want to discuss her vote to bail out Wall Street bankers who gambled with high risk schemes, and lost. Now, Emerson wants the hourly workers at Rhodes 101, K-Mart, Schnucks, Food Giant, Dominios, Burger King, Wal-Mart, along with the teachers, farmers, doctors, and plumbers to bail out her rich friends on Wall Street, and FOREIGN BANKS.
Come on, let's talk this one over. Jo Ann Emerson voted to bail out Wall Street on Monday, September 29th. Then, she immediately got on a military plane, with only one other congressman, a Missouri National Guard General, Mr. Sidwell, an attorney from Sikeston, and they flew that plane out of the country so that Jo Ann, and her Democrat friend, Ike Skelton, would not have to go back to their districts and explain their votes to us. That takes a lot of nerve.
As for the media, KFVS-TV 12, barely reported Emerson's betrayal vote on Monday, under their breath. It was a bare mention.
Then, KFVS-TV Snooz didn't report the fact that Jo Ann Emerson left the country, because, as John, their News Assignment Editor told me, they didn't think that we would be interested in that bit of news..Emerson flew the coop, left the country, got out of the kitchen, because the heat was too hot. Hey, KFVS, why don't you REPORT...AND LET US DECIDE... if it is important news, or, not?
Then, KFVS-TV Snooz, refused to report that Jo Ann Emerson voted for the PORKED UP Wall Street Bailout Bill on Friday, October 3rd. I asked both a female news producer at KFVS, and, again, John the News Assignment Editior. They both got a little testy, and I was told that they had covered Jo Ann Emerson's vote against us on Monday, and they, KFVS SNOOZ thought that was enough, that they didn't have to tell us that Emerson had voted for it again on Friday.
No wonder that people are outraged that the bailout passsed, but many of them do not know that Jo Ann Emerson voted TWICE for the bailout of Wall Street greedy gamblers and Foreign Banks.
There is an option.

I commend Representative Emerson's work for the Eighth District. She is not part of the Radical Right leadership of the GOP that has lost Congress and about to lose the White House. She has shown that she can work across the aisle with Democrats. Moderate Republicans are about to become extinct becasue of the lack of compromise. I have been a moderate Republican all of my life. In the past, the GOP has stood for liberty, small government, balanced budgets, a stong military, and not to engage in nation-building. The last eight years have changed, the current Republican leadership have turned their back on those core prinicples. If the Party would return to the ideas of Eisenhower, Ford, and Reagan, then there could be a resurgence of the Republican brand. In short, Ms. Emerson, keep doing your job.

You commented on Emerson's anti-Republican, anti-southern Missouri votes, which include her votes to bail out her friends on Wall Street and the Foreign Bankers, when we told her 9 to 1, NOT TO BAIL OUT.
I have been saving this little anti-Republican Jo Ann Emerson gem for just such a time as now.
Back on election night, 1994, I was invited to Mary Kasten's home for an election celebration party. I had given money to Bill Emerson's campaign along the years, and had met Mary Kasten.
The party was, I believe, in the room in a family room of sorts, in the basement level of her home.
Along about 8:30pm, I was watching the returns come in on Mary's floor model television that was about in the middle of the room. I had a drink in my hand, but I was not by any means snockered. I was watching the Oklahoma Senate returns come in, and first time Republican Candidate Jim Inhofe was winning. Along about that time, up walks the wife of our Congressman Bill Emerson. She is to my left. (naturally) She exclaims... OH, NO!! I look down at the televsion screen, and it shows that Jim Inhofe was winning. I turn to Jo Ann Emerson and ask, "Isn't that guy the Republican, and isn't he winning?" Jo Ann Emerson responded, "Yes, but Dave (McCurdy) lives near us in D.C., and his kids play soccer with our kids."
In 1994, Jo Ann Emerson was the wife of our Republican Congressman, Bill Emerson, and she is supporting the Democrat running against Republican Jim Inhofe for US Senator from Oklahoma.
Well, I can see being for the candidate of another party, if his position on Social Security is that of yours, or, that he wants to keep AMERICAN JOBS, MISSOURI and OKLAHOMA jobs from going off-shore, and he is against importing foreign food and driving producer prices down through the corn crib floor, but to be for the Democratic candidate because his kids play soccer with your kids at her HOME in Washington, D.C., well, that was a little much for me.
I never respected Jo Ann Emerson following that election night celebration in Mary Kasten's Cape Girardeau home. That was the year that Republicans took the US House of Representatives, yet, the wife of Bill Emerson, Jo Ann Emerson had wanted the Democrat to win the US Senate seat in Oklahoma, because his kids played soccer with her kids in D.C.
I believe that those who have sold there vote for a bottle of hooch, have more sense, than Jo Ann Emerson has. Therefore, I have called her Princess Fluffy, ever since.

Thanks for bringing up the issue of whether Jo Ann Emerson truly espouses the values, and voting desires of the 8th District. I believe that she does not. She voted to off shore jobs and our southern Missouri factories with her votes for Communist China trade legislation, especially, PERMANENT Most Favored Nation Trading Status. She voted to off-shore factories and jobs with her vote for the Central American Free Trade Agreement...CAFTA. Jo Ann Emerson repeatedly votes to fund OPIC, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, that forces southern Missourians to pay the cost of moving their jobs and factories from southern Missouri to Communist China, Communist Vietnam, and Mexico. OPIC and Jo Ann Emerson, also, forces the workers of southern Missouri to pay for advertising McDonalds and other off shore businesses in foreign countries.

Jo Ann Emerson is married to Ron Gladney, a St Louis labor attorney and one of the biggest democrats in the state.
He attends fundraisers with her and works the room to convince people in attendance to vote for Barack Obama.
Emerson herself, made it a requirement that her staff watch Obama’s acceptance speech!
Given that, and her voting record of late, her husband has converted her as well.
If she is seeking office it should be on the democrat ticket and be voted out Nov 4th.

Thank you. I gave up girlie mags many years ago. At that time, Esqiure was a "gentleman's soft porn" magazine. Fuzzed out photos, etc.
I am comforted to hear that the former girlie mag, Esquire, endorsed Jo Ann Emerson, but that she didn't have to pose for the centerfold.

No wonder then, that they would choose Jo Ann Emerson, over Joe Allen. Joe's all substance, he is adamantly against the bailout of Wall Street greedy gamblers, and Foreign Banks. Wish I could say the same about Emerson... she voted for it twice. After her first vote, she got on a plane and immediately left the country. She had no quams about the bill, she saddled us with a huge debt, and let her contributor friends on Wall Street off scott free, and they get to keep all the loot that they stole before they crashed the market.
Thank you, Jo Ann Emerson, for once again, raping southern Missourians of their wages to pay off the gambling debts of Wall Street Bankers and foreign banks.
