Jill Biden to visit Cape Girardeau Saturday to talk about working familiesWednesday, October 15, 2008
Jill Biden, wife of Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Joe Biden, on Saturday will visit Cape Girardeau as part of a three-day campaign swing through Missouri. The news release announcing the visit said Biden's effort would take her "across the state to talk with voters about what's at stake for families who are struggling to make ends meet during increasingly challenging economic times." No details of where or when Biden would make her Cape Girardeau stop were immediately available. The news release said those details would be released later this week. The visit would be the first by a major party nominee or spouse to Southeast Missouri since the national conventions. A new CNN/Time poll of battleground states, released Wednesday, shows Democratic candidate Sen. Barack Obama is in a dead heat in Missouri with the Republican nominee, Sen. John McCain. Among likely voters, Obama received 48 percent of the vote to McCain's 49 percent. Among registered voters, Obama leads 50 percent to 47 percent. The poll was conducted Oct. 11 to Oct. 14 by Opinion Research Corp. and has a margin of error of 3 percent for likely voters and 3.5 percent for registered voters. Jay will be there recording I'm sure since he is really a Democrat.
If Jill Biden is coming to Cape in support of her husband and Barack Obama, then why show a picture of her standing next to the Clinton's? Kinda odd don't you think.
