Lipke, Tracy raise little for Nov. 4Monday, October 13, 2008
Neither Clint Tracy, the Republican nominee in the 158th District, nor Rep. Scott Lipke, R-Jackson, have raised much money for their Nov. 4 election campaigns against third-party opponents. Lipke, in fact, has not received any contributions since Sept. 1, according to the report he filed last week with the Missouri Ethics Commission. Lipke faces Constitution Party candidate Jennifer Friedrich of St. Mary, Mo. Lipke has $15,719 in his campaign bank account. Friedrich has not filed any disclosure reports with the Ethics Commission; she is exempt from filing if she spends less than $500. Lipke is seeking his fourth term And Tracy, who won a three-way primary contest in August to win the Republican nomination in the 158th District, has taken in only $3,750 since Sept. 1. He used the money to repay his $5,000 loan to the primary campaign, leaving him with $1,487 on hand. Tracy faces Libertarian nominee Robert Roland of Cape Girardeau on Nov. 4. Roland has filed notices with the Ethics Commission that he has not raised or spent $500 on his campaign.
