Morley woman injured in Tuesday night strong arm robberyThursday, October 9, 2008
MORLEY, Mo. — A strong-arm robbery Tuesday night in Morley left a female victim injured. Scott County deputies and Morley police are searching for the suspects involved. The victim, a woman in her early 40s, was attacked outside her home while she was unloading groceries around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, said Scott County Sheriff's Department Detective Branden Caid. Police said a vehicle pulled up in her driveway and two men got out and accosted her, showing a small semiautomatic handgun, Caid said. She fought back and suffered two lacerations and several bruises, but the men managed to get her purse away from her, Caid said. Related Links

One last comment before I turn in. I know Gary Rust to be a man of integrity, and expect his sons are cut from the same cloth.
There was one more thing. It stated the victim described her assailants as two men in their early 20's driving a dark minivan. If you read my first comment, it was taken from that description. I get up early in the morning, about 5:30 or so and the first thing I do is peruse the local and regional newspapers sites.
The original story read differently than what is on the site now. "Two men in their early 20's" was stated in the first published draft. It was all that was stated in reference to a description. Ergo, the sarcasm. I think the publishers of this newspaper should clarify that fact if this newspaper is to retain its integrity. I respond to the information published on this site the same as you. I have no other source for the information.
batsbirdsfan must be reading between the lines?!?
How did you know they were in their 20's?
Must be missing someting ...
where did you come up with your "Two men in their early 20s quote"? I don't see that in the story ...
Agree batsbirdfan. Do you think the police dispatcher gave that same description to the patrol officers investigating the case?
It is about time that the name of the person who actually works the case and does all the work gets noticed. Thanks
Two men in their early 20's? My gosh, I think I've seen two men that fit that description, but I'm not sure what they drive. Gee, I wonder if they were short or tall, thin or fat, dark hair or light, or...forgive me for even suggesting it...white or black. There! I said it. And the world is still turning. Whew! Thought I'd be labelled a racist. For those who don't get it, you can eliminate large chunks of suspects if you can identify a race. Although the sex will get you approximately a 50% reduction in suspects.
