Last blonde standing — the mansion meltdown continues

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

In news we kind of all saw coming but had yet to confirm, Hugh Hefner's No. 3 girlfriend, Kendra Wilkinson, said Tuesday night on "Chelsea Lately" that while she and Hef are no longer together, they will remain friends. She also took the opportunity to discuss her new boyfriend, Philadelphia Eagle Hank Baskett. Huh. A football player. Go figure.

Hefner has also confirmed his breakup with Holly Madison (which he claims is because he was unable to father a child with her. Hm, seems like someone around here was saying something along those lines yesterday...) and says Kendra will probably be moving out of the mansion by the end of the year. He says that for the time being, he and Kendra and Bridget Marquardt are still romantically involved. But, with Kendra's apparent confirmation of the breakup, looks like Bridget's the last blonde standing. At least for the time being. I think it may be Hef who breaks it off with her rather than vice versa, however. She is, after all, a scandalizing 35 years old. That's pretty mature to be seen with Hef.

According to the story on E!Online, there's apparently already quite a list of girls waiting to become girlfriends. Should be interesting to see who moves in as replacements.

Thanks. Good catch. Our stylebook actually has "blond" as a noun, but only for men. It also has it as an adjective. But for a woman, it should have been "blonde." Sorry 'bout that.

"Blond" is a hair color.
A "blonde" is a person with blond hair color.

Working in a newsroom, we get our fill each week of politics, economics and the fickle Southeast Missouri weather. Reading the paper for eight hours a night can be draining, so in our downtime we spend countless hours (countless, of course, because we¹ve never bothered to count them) indulging our guilty pleasures: reading about Britney Spears (sorry, we just can't leave her alone!), surfing Internet gossip sites (apparently Amy Winehouse is going to launch her own line of beauty products -- no joke), watching reality TV (why are none of the Real Housewives actual housewives?) and keeping up with our favorite pop-culture trends (gotta love those celebrity couple nicknames). Now we're sharing our love of celebrity scandal and gossip with you.
