TMZ learned from Holly Madison's own mouth Monday that Holly, 28, and Playboy founder and editor-in-chief Hugh Hefner, 82, have called it quits. The couple was together for seven years. Rumors have been circulating recently about Holly's alleged relationship (the nature of which is still unclear) with magician Criss Angel. Hef, of course, is still married and living next door to Kimberley Conrad, his wife and the mother of his two youngest children. Wow. He's got a lot of people to keep track of at his age. And most of them are blond. Wonder how often he gets them confused. Here's the thing. Anyone who has seen "The Girls Next Door" knows about Holly's obsession with having Hef's baby. My (Katherine's) thought is that after seven years, she got tired of waiting for him to impregnate her with her baby gold mine and decided enough was enough. She'll still be around though, even if she does eventually move out of the mansion: She's a photo editor for the magazine. I hope this doesn't cause the end of the series, though some sources say season 5, the current season, is set to be the last, anyway. Others say Hef and the girls have signed on for season 6. Guess only time will tell. The next tough question: Who will move into Hef's room? We can't imagine it would be either of the other two girls from the show, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra "K-Dub" Wilkinson. I can't blame them, though. I wouldn't want that job, either.

Working in a newsroom, we get our fill each week of politics, economics and the fickle Southeast Missouri weather. Reading the paper for eight hours a night can be draining, so in our downtime we spend countless hours (countless, of course, because wešve never bothered to count them) indulging our guilty pleasures: reading about Britney Spears (sorry, we just can't leave her alone!), surfing Internet gossip sites (apparently Amy Winehouse is going to launch her own line of beauty products -- no joke), watching reality TV (why are none of the Real Housewives actual housewives?) and keeping up with our favorite pop-culture trends (gotta love those celebrity couple nicknames). Now we're sharing our love of celebrity scandal and gossip with you.

Perez Hilton (and a lot of other sources) have been reporting rumors of a breakup. The Monday TMZ report was the first that had Holly actually confirming it. They (Hef, Holly, and the other girls) had been denying the breakup.
Perez Hilton told us this weeks ago!
I'd sleep with Hef if I got to live in the house....
