When Southeast Missouri Hospital contacted Jane Tipton of Jackson about using her "Pink Panther" truck in the SEMO District fair parade to promote breast cancer awareness, she agreed enthusiastically. "The Pink Panther and I will do anything to promote breast cancer awareness," she said.

This year's annual parade is dedicated to breast cancer research. Tipton bought the truck ten years ago and had it restored and modified to her liking. "My husband gave me a 5.0 Mustang engine to put in and he lowered it too," she said. She showed the truck up until 2005 when she decided to dedicate the Pink Panther to promoting breast cancer awareness after her friend in Chaffee was diagnosed with breast cancer. Just last year Tipton's truck was the center of attention at Style Stop Lifestyle's Susan G. Comen fundraiser during breast cancer awareness month.
