One superintendent told me new cell phones have been designed to fit completely in the ear, like a hearing aid. These phones are totally voice activated and have no buttons whatsoever. They also cannot be detected without looking in the ear canal.

Before cell phones.....
A spouse could go to the store and be gone for more than 30 minutes without their significan other calling to make sure they were okay.
A boss couldn't micromanage on the weekends.
A teenager could focus on schoolwork.
Families communicated using the same network called DINNER at God forbid the kitchen table.
