Wanna know where to find a retro Nintendo game console?

Thursday, August 21, 2008

Earlier this year I was doing a little spring cleaning and gave away, among other items, my Nintendo entertainment system. That video game console was a large part of my after-school and Saturday morning entertainment during my elementary and middle school days (anyone remember playing Duck Hunt or Super Mario Brothers). Though at times I regret my decision, I was pleased to discover one business near the Southeast Missourian office that could have the remedy in case I desire to purchase another Nintendo one day.

Located at 519 Broadway, Cash It In offers classic and retro video games and consoles, new and used guitars, CDs, DVDs, taisers, TVs, jewelry and more. Future plans are to expand his selection of items and possibly the current Monday through Friday store hours of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

During my brief visit with owner Erik Harper, I was pleased to hear that he chose to open the business on Broadway because of the area's potential.

"With all the revitalization of Broadway in recent years and what I believe will happen in the future on this street, I knew this was a great time to open a business here," Harper said.

Yeah, I have used NESticle for the past 8+yrs. It was a popular emulator for a whole lot of NES/Arcade/Sega games. I used it quite a bit. Even with my pc connected to the TV, it was still a bit of hassle to fire up the pc, switch outputs, configure the controller, etc.
Good point though, Budman! I even got the arcade board controller (like the arcade machines had) for games like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat.

If you want to play nintendo, atari, sega, or other arcade games on your pc, try this website:

Download an emulator and any games you want. Some people have built arcades that play all of the games. Go here to see how.

My childhood was drenched in Nintendo. I pretty much abondoned it in my early 20's. Flash forward 10 yrs...Mrs. Snoots and I recently bought a Wii and Wii Fit. Let's just say Nintendo abounds around the Snooty household now.
Plus, you can get a ton of classic games on the Wii without having the old console. You may wanna look into that before spending money on an old console that would have to be repaired and MAY last you a few more years. I have my old NES and last year replaced the 72pin connector and it runs like a dream. Reason why it still runs is that I took good care of it. I still gotta blow on some games though, but that the cartridge's issue not the console. Ahhh!...memories!
