Eight local bands, fire-breathing and belly dancing are some of the highlights showcased in the city's ongoing promotion of local events. Come get your culture on this weekend in St. Louis by dancing to a Vietnamese dragon dance, eating some Ethiopian injera or trying on Indian saris with the International Institute's Festival of Nations. Museum of American Quilter's Society, Paducah, Ky.

Quilts from the ninth Quilt Nihon Exhibition in Japan, the biggest quilting contest in the country, are being featured at the Museum of American Quilter's Society in Paducah. The quilts are on display until Oct. 16 and come from 16 countries. The exhibition is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
