Two Scott County teens suspected of stealing from vehiclesWednesday, August 20, 2008
BENTON, Mo. — Vehicle vandalism over the weekend near Miner led to the arrest of two Scott County teens. Charged Monday with felony stealing were Nicholas Guzman, 18, of Oran; and Jonathan Sauceda, 19, of Sikeston. The charges stem from calls received by the Scott County Sheriff's Department early Sunday morning concerning vehicles tampered with in the Heckemeyer Acres area, east of Miner, according to a news release from Sheriff Rick Walter. By the end of the day, 15 cars had been reported tampered with and deputies recovered about three-quarters of the items reported stolen, including guns, money, jewelry, CDs and clothing. Over the course of the investigation, it was determined those items were stolen from vehicles over Saturday night and Sunday morning. Bond for Guzman was set at $15,000, while Sauceda's bond was $7,500. As of press time today, both remained in custody at the Scott County Jail. Walter also indicated additional charges may be filed against the pair. Related Links
