Sweet Tea and Science, Science Day Blood Drive, and Weather ClassMonday, August 18, 2008
Sweet Tea and Science Grab the kids and head to McAlister's Deli in Cape Girardeau for sweet tea, great food, and cool science. On, Wednesday, August 27th at 7 p.m. I'll get you "Hooked on Science." The first 5 kids that tell me the secret science word will earn a FREE ScienceSaurus. Go to www.hookedonscience.org for the secret science word on Tuesday, August 26th. Science Day 2008 Record Attempt Changed Guinness World Records sent me an e-mail indicating that they did not like the "most rocket balloons launched at once" record. Instead, we will attempt the "most balloons blown up in an hour" record on October 3, 2008. This record will not only help put this region in the record books but will teach the kids that air takes up space. Science Day 2008 Blood Drive The Southeast Missouri Chapter of the American Red Cross and Hooked on Science are teaming up on Science Day. You can help save a life by giving blood at the Science Day 2008 Blood Drive. Science Day 2008 Costume Contest Hooked on Science and the Southeast Missourian are searching for the best scientist costume. Come dressed like a scientist at Science Day 2008 and you could earn a prize. Eagle Ridge Christian School Weather Class Starting in late August I'll team up with Eagle Ridge Christian School to teach a weather class. Middle school students will learn everything from forecasting to severe weather safety. Related Links
