New sports pub opening in north Cape GirardeauWednesday, August 13, 2008
Beef O'Bradys plans to occupy a space in the office complex at 1812 Carondelet Avenue off North Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau. The first such franchise in the state, the family sports pub will feature 21 big-screen LCD televisions and memorabilia from Southeast Missouri sports teams. Scheduled for a mid-to-late September opening, Beef O'Bradys will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sundays. Decorating the walls of the business will be a Perryville, Mo., High School football jersey, an authographed Scott City High School state championship baseball jersey, a Cape Girardeau youth soccer league team jersey, Southeast Missouri State University team memorabilia and other items. "We are wanting to stress a community atmosphere here," co-owner Lee Hillman of Cape Girardeau said. "We'll try our best to put up on our walls any sports jerseys or items from people in this area." Though Hillman never has owned a restaurant before, he does have experience working in the food industry. When Hillman and co-owner Robert McGillivrary of Sikeston, Mo., first explored the idea in January 2007, they believed Beef O'Brady's McGillivrary had visited in Orlando, Fla., would thrive in Cape Girardeau. While unexpected delays prevented the restaurant from its planned December 2007 opening, the owners were able to obtain a building permit in June for the $160,000 project. "This is a restaurant badly needed in Cape Girardeau," Hillman said. "We hope that folks will one day say that B's is the place to meet."

I think you took my comments wrong. For one i try to say things in sports blogs for the other side. I will definately go to this Sports bar to try the food.
I was just curious about being a sports bar and the fact that it closes so early
waytogo2008, I haven't read some other "examples" of Obamayourmamma's criticism, but it seems to me like you're the one who's being overly critical and insulting here.
It's perfectly reasonable to assume that a sports BAR would be open until last call. If you have such an issue with people who enjoy alcohol, then why don't you just stay away from this new sports BAR?
What a surprise...obamayourmamma2008 has another POSITIVE -NOT - thing to say Just because it is a sports bar doesn't mean that you can not just go in and have a sandwich or something to eat and watch some sports on TV. Just as we all figured obamayourmamma .....your whole life is centered around drinking and critizing others..get a better attitude and maybe you could actually enjoy life and you might be able to find a friend or maybe even 2 friends
Beef O'Brady's is great! I usually go there at least once a month. Very good sandwiches.
Being a sports bar. Shouldnt they be open till 1am
I wish them well - Beef O'Brady's, but have discovered that Jimmi's is a great place to eat and catch a game. Really nice decor, plenty of TV's from all angles, and the food is excellent. Every entree I've tried has been fantastic. Disclaimer: I am not associated with this restaurant in any way except as a patron.
Thats great. Can't wait for the opening.
Need a Fridays.
That's even better. Thanks
That's even better. Thanks
Actually, it's almost next door to Casa Mexicana.
Looks like it is in the same place that Saffron moved into. Close to Rhodes on North Kingshighway. There is a new office complex that just opened.
Sweet! I never knew what Beef O' Brady's was but I'm stoked it's a sports bar. We've been hurting in the genre since Nick's and Rowdy's closed down. I can't count how many times I've wanted to go somewhere else besides Buffalo Wild Wings to watch a game... but no where else has a similar atmosphere!
Where exactly is Carondolet?
Oops, don't know why I did that. My fingers were thinking something different than my hands.
I assume you meant to write "occupy" instead of "vacate" in the first sentence?
