Just heard over the scannerSaturday, July 26, 2008
A hit and run within Jackson city limits, in the area of Bainbridge Road. The victim appears to be a mailbox, and the third-party caller was in pursuit of the culprit when they notified police. The caller told police that they believe the vehicle that hit the mailbox is a van with a busted windshield. If caught, this individual could face charges of property damage and leaving the scene of an accident. Before the scanner buzz quieted, dispatch said the caller would wait for a patrol officer so they could provide an eyewitness account. Nice to see a concerned citizen so dedicated to bringing this mailbox slayer to justice.
