High ratingsThursday, July 17, 2008
By now, you've probably heard about rate my cop, a privately run website designed to allow citizens an opportunity to provide some feedback on individual police officers. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is the only department in our coverage area to have participated with a list of officers so far, and they've got mostly ratings that are highly favorable. This website has been in the media quite a bit. Many people feel as though its a positive thing because it gives citizens a venue to express their cheers and jeers for local law enforcement. Others have shown concern that it could very easily turn into another way for disgruntled offenders to take a shot at the police. Personally, I think the site is very well maintained, and seems to be policed (no pun intended) in a responsible manner. Anyone want to check out the site and sound off on this?
