The TillmansThursday, July 10, 2008
A Sikeston couple suffered a minor car accident Tuesday when their 93 Pontiac Grand Prix struck a utility pole at Campanella and N. Ingram St. in Sikeston. They were traveling about 70 miles per hour, but just mowed down the pole, suffering only minor injuries. The Tillmans were on their way to the hospital, because Roger Tillman had allegedly struck his wife in the head several times with an ax handle, according to the probable cause statement.
That's where it gets really weird. Thankfully, Linda Tillman's injuries were relatively minor, and she was released-at which point she provided police with more information, Sheriff Rick Walter said. Check back online for an update later or read the full story in tomorrow's Southeast Missourian.
