(OK!)

World, meet Maddie Briann. The infant scored her first magazine cover, along with momma Jamie Lynn, on this week's OK! magazine. According to the Associated Press story, the teen mom (who announced her pregnancy in the same mag) is reportedly going to receive a nice payday for the first published pics of Britney's niece. Hope Jamie Lynn puts some of that cash toward Maddie's college fund. In the article, the proud momma dishes about her easy delivery (three to four hours long) and gushes over her perfect angel. "She is very good," Jamie Lynn told OK!. "She'll feed every two or three hours. When she wakes up in the middle of the night, I'll feed her and she goes right back to sleep. There's no screaming and crying." Wow...sounds like she really is a good baby. All should be well unless Jamie Lynn starts taking parenting lessons from big sis.

It's been a baby bonanza in Hollywood this week. On Monday, Nicole Kidman gave birth to Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. Sunday's daddy is country hunk, uh, singer, Keith Urban. Funny side note: One of Urban's hit songs is "Raining on Sunday." But I'm sure the Aussie parents hope for nothing but sunny skies for little Sunday. As for the name choice (still not nearly as unfortunate as Pilot Inspektor Lee), Nicole's dad explained the tot was named for "prominent patron of the arts" in Austraila. Hey...at least they've got a reason. (Another side note: On the OK! cover, the news about Nicole's baby apparently isn't as important as how her ex, Tom Cruise, spent the Fourth of July with his new family.)

Also Monday, Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves welcomed son Levi Alves McConaughey. According to the actor's journal on his Web site, they couple are "stoked and awed" by the birth. And E! is pretty stoked, too. In a list of the top 9 Hollywood babies, little Levi ranked No. 3. Not bad for being a few days old. But with a former People Sexiest Man as a daddy and a Brazlian model for a mommy, you know the kid's got genetics in his corner.

No. 1 on E!'s list? Shiloh Jolie-Pitt ... perhaps the most genetically blessed kid in the world. At least until her twin baby siblings make their debut in the coming days or weeks. Incidentally, Shi's parents weren's so shy with her. She made her debut on the cover of People, for a major payday. Which, of course, her parents with many causes donated to charity. Of course, the $4.1 million People paid for the Shilo photos is nothing compared to what the twins could haul in. Newsday reported that exclusive photos of the much-anticpated twosome could fetch $15 million. Something tells me Jamie Lynn and Maddie didn't score quite so much.

Lynn Spears for Mother of the Year. She be so proud of her daughters. One a drug addict, one a teenage mother. Ok is trash for paying for those photos. This should not be glorified. Is she even 16 yet?

OK, I may come off as an old fuddy-duddy, but this is nothing but glorifying teenage motherhood. I find the entire situation very sad. This is a child raising a child with the entire world watching. It cannot turn out well.

Working in a newsroom, we get our fill each week of politics, economics and the fickle Southeast Missouri weather. Reading the paper for eight hours a night can be draining, so in our downtime we spend countless hours (countless, of course, because wešve never bothered to count them) indulging our guilty pleasures: reading about Britney Spears (sorry, we just can't leave her alone!), surfing Internet gossip sites (apparently Amy Winehouse is going to launch her own line of beauty products -- no joke), watching reality TV (why are none of the Real Housewives actual housewives?) and keeping up with our favorite pop-culture trends (gotta love those celebrity couple nicknames). Now we're sharing our love of celebrity scandal and gossip with you.
