Cape Girardeau's most elusive band Lost Possum will be making a rare appearance once again this year during the River City Music Festival on Friday, Sept. 25 on the outside stage near Port Cape, on the corners of Themis and Water streets. Together since 2003, Lost Possum will be playing material from their debut album, 2004's guitar-heavy Nowhere To Go and last year's intense and emotional Juggernaut, and quite possibly a well-chosen "cover" or two...

Scott City JV Takes Title!!

The Scott City Lady Rams Junior Varsity took 1st place at the Bernie Junior Varsity Tournament on Friday, Sept 4th. The Lady Rams finished 2nd in their pool on Thursday. They defeated Puxico in the first round, Bernie in the semi-finals, and Poplar Bluff in the finals to take the championship! What a great way to start the season!!!...

Boy Scout Organizes Buddy Walk for Down Syndrome

On October 10, 2009, the Heartland Down Syndrome Association will host Southeast Missouri's first-ever Buddy Walk. The local walk is being sponsored by Boy Scout Matt Jedlinski, Troop 16, who is organizing and coordinating the event as his Eagle Project. Many Eagle projects focus on actual building with wood and cement, but Jedlinski's plans are to build what he hopes to become an annual event for the newly formed Heartland DS Association...
