I WAS pleasantly surprised that the Cape Girardeau City Council did not cave into the lifestyles of the rich and famous in the Sylvan Lane area. Rather they did the decent thing and approved the plat for the subdivision. Whether these are rental properties or sales homes, I don't see how they can hurt the Cape Girardeau school system, and low-income families in this town need some housing options...
