Retha Alene Yantis, 74, 606 Silver Springs Road, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 1994, at the home of a sister. She was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Stuttgart, Ark., daughter of Glenn A. and Retha L. Russell Armstrong. She and Bruce Yantis were married May 24, 1964. He died in 1971...

Evelyn H. Sachse Borgfield, 87, 174 Peek Lane, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 1994, at Fountainbleau Lodge. She was born Jan. 8, 1907, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of Juan F. and Anna Carolyn Happel Hawn. She married Earl Sachse Oct. 27, 1929. He died Sept. 21, 1938. She later married Adolph Borgfield Aug. 5, 1945. He died Sept. 2, 1987...

To the editor: You did your readers a serious disservice with Tuesday's front-page item by Peggy Scott, "Graduate: Citadel, women don't mix." This article appeared on the front page, above the fold, with a color photograph of a young local man in an imposing uniform, in the same issue in which the controversial crime bill pending before Congress, the capture of the notorious Carlos the Jackal, and the possible raising of interest rates by the Federal Reserve were all relegated to inside pages...
