• There are many federal employees who cannot just walk off the job for days such as Law Enforcement, Bureau of Prisons, military and maybe a few others. I do not believe that these people should be required to work or fired if they don't show up after being made to work for nothing unless such was clearly explained to the at the time of their employment.

  I know a lot of state and federal employees and none of them belong to a union, so I really don't know where all of these highly paid "union government employees" are.

• I tried to find a good definition for "non-essential government employee", but couldn't find one. I believe the definition would change from short term to long term.
