Why is the cost of gas so high here in the heartland. According to the AP: Crude prices are falling, stock piles of crude and gas are higher than last year and above expectations, the cost for a gallon on both the East and West coast is running around $1.93/$1.94. So why are we paying $2.59 ?

Technically speaking, SE Missouri is America's Right Armpit; America's Heartland is a little further west of here.
